Brushstrokes and Stitches is a home based business, mostly seasonal craft shows, and currently I share a booth at the Wisconsin Dells Craft Mall, Wisconsin Dells. I have a few private customers that I do some restoration work for, and on occasion do special orders for someone.
The Brushstrokes part of my business name refers to my decorative and folk art painting on wood, ceramic, metal, glass, canvas, and fabric. The Stitches refers to my craft sewing, such as fabric art dolls, santas, and snowmen. I also make aprons for women and kids. I am not a quilter--that takes too much time and is too expensive. I like to keep my prices reasonable.
Currently my most popular items are anything Packer or UW-Wisconsin related, such as hand painted glass Christmas tree ornaments. Snowmen are always popular subjects for Christmas ornaments, too!
More About This Business
I am mostly self-taught when it comes to my painting, although if I can find a local painting class or internet tutorial on any type of painting or craft, I will join in. I like to "broaden my horizons"!
My next painting adventure will be Rosemaling classes. I learned the craft in high school,(back in the dark ages) but need to refresh my skills as I have an ancient Norwegian spinning wheel that needs refurbishing and 2 3-legged corner chairs waiting to be updated. Plus several old sleds. Should be a fun 2016.
